Jerry Dermody founded JD Distributors in 1989 after working in the appliance field his entire professional career. Jerry set out with an established book of loyal clients that appreciated his personal approach to business. The success of JD Distributors has been and continues to be a customer first. This approach led to Jerry and Denver partnering in the summer of 2020 amidst a global pandemic. Denver had worked in a sales capacity at various large corporations and found ‘sales’ organizations to be focused on transactions vs. meeting clients’ needs. “I always put my clients’ needs before the needs of the company I was working for and, as a result, built lifelong friends along the way.”
Since Jerry and Denver partnered, Jerry has handed the day-to-day operations over to Denver and maintains an advisory role within JD Distributors to spend more time with family and friends. Denver and Jerry continue to strategize on the business as a team. The two express a proud friendship that they have established during the significant transitions in each of their lives. Their business continues to focus on servicing appliance stores and property management companies throughout the eastern seaboard. Operating as a family-owned small business allows JD Distributors to work with a customer base that they are proud to work with. This same approach is true throughout the vendor side as well. Jerry and Denver discuss the business’s integrity often, and both have made strategic moves to only work with individuals and companies that they feel maintain comparable standards.
The near-term focus is on Accountability and Reliability during very challenging times across the globe. While JD Distributors continues to foster new relationships, a primary focus right now is to take care of those that have been long-standing partners.
